Clear Preaching Academy

You don't have to carry the calling alone.

Preaching can be the loneliest work in the church. The Academy is where that changes — a community of encouragement, growth, and connection, built for preachers who'd rather grow together than do this alone, week after week.

Some weeks you don't preach a sermon — you survive one. You study alone, wrestle the text alone, stand up Sunday alone. The Academy changes that. You get a room full of preachers who get it… and the framework, the courses, and the tools come with them. The room comes first. The courses come with it.

For both new and experienced preachers · membership accessible for all

Jonathan McClintock preaching
"I want my final sermon to be my very best sermon. That's why I built this." — Dr. Jonathan McClintock · Clear Preaching Academy

First, the important part

It's a community first. The courses are the bonus.

Most preaching programs hand you content and leave you to watch it alone. The Academy is the opposite. At the center is a cohort — a small group of preachers working on the same things at the same time, trading honest feedback on real sermons. That's the heart of it.

The framework, the expanding library of courses, the tools, the Clarity Audit? They're all here, and they're all good. But they're what you get inside the room — not a replacement for it. Because preachers don't grow watching videos alone. They grow in a room with people who get it.

Find your people first… the clarity follows.

Why a community, not a course

Other programs give you a finish line. The Academy gives you a room you never have to leave.

Not a sprint. A home base.

So here's why that matters more than it sounds. There's a version of preaching development that goes like this: sign up, work through the modules, finish the cohort, collect the certificate. Maybe it stuck. Maybe it didn't. Either way — it's over.

That model assumes your preaching has a finish line.

It doesn't.

You'll preach again next week. And the week after that. And the week after that. And if you're like most preachers, you'll do it with no one around who knows what good preaching looks like — no honest feedback, no outside perspective, no one watching your back.

The Academy is built for the long game. Not a program you finish, but a community you belong to. When you join, you step into a Clear Preaching Cohort — a small, focused group working on the same things at the same time, trading real feedback on real sermons. But the cohort isn't the destination. It's the beginning. The relationships don't end when the cohort does. The framework doesn't expire.

The community is there every week — the same way Sunday is.

43%

of pastors report profound loneliness and isolation — preparing alone, preaching alone, evaluating alone.

31%

of churchgoers read Scripture daily — which means Sunday may be the only time most of your people open the Bible all week.

$19

The truth about preaching alone.

You love preaching. You really do. But if you're honest, some weeks you don't preach a sermon — you survive one.

There's the week you can't find the one passage. The one idea to build everything around. The prep that becomes a draining search for substance. And then there's Sunday — you walk off the platform wondering if any of it actually landed, because somewhere between your study and their seats, the delivery felt flat. You're not always sure what went wrong. Only that something did.

Here's why it happens. Most preachers never get real feedback. They don't have a framework they fully trust. And they don't have a single person around who understands what Sunday costs.

You study alone. You wrestle the text alone. You evaluate it alone.

You've carried it by yourself long enough.

Whether you're two years in or twenty, whether you trained in seminary or learned it in the school of hard knocks — the Clear Preaching Academy was built for preachers who are serious about the craft and ready to stop going it alone.

Not just to survive Sunday… but to thrive in it.

What changes when you stop going it alone.

Four shifts — the difference between surviving Sunday and thriving in it.

Instead of carrying it all by yourselfyou'll have a room full of preachers who get it.

Instead of rebuilding your process from scratch every weekyou'll preach from a framework that works every time.

Instead of preaching around the text instead of through ityou'll find the one idea that drives the whole sermon.

Instead of walking off the platform wondering if it landedyou'll have the language to know why — and fix it.

Same pulpit. Same calling. You're just not carrying it alone anymore.

The Gap Every Preacher Knows

You work hard. But something still gets lost.

You spent hours in the text. You studied, prepared, and prayed. You stood up Sunday and said something you really meant. But somewhere between your study, the pulpit, and their seats — something got lost.

Maybe you recognized it in the moment. Maybe you felt it on the way home. Maybe you've just quietly carried it — the nagging sense that what you're preaching and what they're hearing aren't quite the same thing.

The theological concept that made perfect sense in your study landed as fog in the room.

The structure that felt logical in your notes felt scattered from the pew.

The illustration you thought was perfect fell flat somewhere in transmission.

"Good sermon, Pastor" on the way out — and still not knowing if they heard what you meant to say.

Clarity in preaching is not just about speaking well. It's about being understood. And being understood is a discipline — one that operates at every stage of the preaching process, from the moment you open the text to the moment you close your Bible.

The Clear Preaching Academy exists to give you that discipline — systematically, practically, and for as long as you preach.

Why the Academy?

Your preaching deserves more than figuring it out alone.

The Clear Preaching Academy gives you the framework, the feedback, and the community to preach with clarity and confidence — every single Sunday.

Who Built It

From both sides of the desk.

Preacher · Professor · Church Planter

Dr. Jonathan McClintock

I've spent the last sixteen years teaching preaching at the university level — and preaching in a local church every single week. That means I know what the framework looks like in the classroom, and I know what it costs when it breaks down on Sunday morning.

My doctoral research focused specifically on oral clarity in preaching — one of the most underexplored areas in homiletical literature. The Clear Preaching Framework came out of that research, thirty years of pulpit experience, and more conversations with preachers than I can count — at every stage, in every context.

The Academy is not theory disconnected from the pulpit. And it's not mere pragmatism disconnected from serious scholarship. It's both — because effective preaching requires both.

Shaped by scholarship. Proven in the pulpit.

How It Compares

What the Academy gives you that nothing else does.

There are more preaching programs than ever. Here's what this one does that the others don't.

A room that knows what Sunday costs.

Real connection with preachers at every stage — people who get it, ask the hard questions, and take growth seriously.

The piece missing from nearly every online course: you're not in it alone.

A real person on the other end.

Monthly Q&A calls mean your actual questions get actual answers — not just one more video to queue up.

Most online courses are a one-way street.

Feedback on your actual preaching.

The Clarity Audit puts eyes on your real manuscript or outline and sends it back with specific, usable notes.

Almost everywhere else, that's expensive — or simply unavailable.

Training you can use this Sunday.

Every course, every tool, every resource is built to be preached — not just studied.

Most preaching resources stop at inspiration. This one shows up Sunday morning.

Training that doesn't end when the semester does.

Seminary graduates. Cohorts wrap. The Academy keeps going — new courses, new content, the same community — for as long as you preach.

Most programs have a finish line. Your preaching doesn't, so this one doesn't either.

A framework forged in research and the pulpit.

Not theory disconnected from Sunday. Not pragmatism disconnected from study. Both — because clear preaching requires both.

Most resources hand you one or the other.

Most programs give you content. This one gives you people, real feedback, and a framework — so Sunday is no longer yours to carry alone.

What preachers are saying

"

Dr. McClintock's feedback was clear and insightful. I knew he had really listened to my submission and taken the time to work through what I could improve. His advice showed me blindspots I had in my preparation and I now have steps I can take to better my preaching. Thank you for all your time and effort!

A Letter from Jonathan
Dr. Jonathan McClintock
Clear Preaching Academy
May 2026
To my fellow preachers,

I took a preaching course in Bible school. It was a great experience. The professor is still someone I admire. I got to preach my first sermon at a church about an hour from the school. It was a great memory. The people were kind to listen to someone who was green and just starting out.

The next several years I developed simply by doing — and by listening to others preach. I made strides, but still had no good plan or structure. Trial and error. Learning in the school of hard knocks. I was trying, but as I look back, I wasn't making much headway.

What kept me stuck? I was afraid of feedback. The real kind.

I youth pastored — those poor young people. I pastored — that poor congregation. I look back at the notes from those messages and they were adequate... but severely lacking. There were times I felt like I just didn't have it. I didn't have what it took. I would listen to preachers who profoundly moved congregations with their eloquence and I felt even worse — incapable, under-skilled.

I was eventually given preaching classes to teach. I tell people it was because I was the only warm body with time on my hands. Okay — I'm being a little self-deprecating. But I do recognize how much I still needed to grow.

After more than a decade of teaching preaching to undergrad students, I took the leap and pursued a Doctor of Ministry degree in preaching. Finally.

It opened my eyes. What I had felt incapable of doing was actually a learnable skill. For four, nearly five years, I was shaped by others who also wanted to grow. I took what I was learning and began applying it in my own preaching. My understanding opened. I became less and less afraid of feedback and constructive criticism. I became vulnerable with others and laid down my pride — and I didn't realize how much we preachers carry pride around when it comes to our preaching.

I realized I'm not the perfect preacher. I don't have everything figured out. But I am on a lifetime quest to become all God has called me to be — to continually improve, however I am able, to become a better preacher.

I want my final sermon to be my very best sermon.

And that is why I am building the Clear Preaching Academy — opening June 1.

It is something I wish I would have had when I was younger. And something I am going to enjoy now that I am older.

It is a community built for preachers who are serious about their craft... who are willing to admit they still have something to learn... who want to share what they've learned while also gleaning from others who have learned things they have yet to learn.

It is a community with access to training and coaching, cohorts of small groups who will spend focused time building one another, and a place where preachers can find the encouragement they need — not only in their preaching, but in their lives, their ministries, and their personal spiritual growth.

Come join us. Be part of the beginning of something great — building preachers who are called to build people through the sacred calling of preaching God's Word.

Inside the Academy

A plain statement

Not a seminary. Not a sprint. Something different.

There are more preaching programs than ever right now. Seminaries are launching institutes. Cohorts are advertising six-month tracks. Established programs are running promotions. The space is crowded — and a lot of it sounds the same. So here's what the Clear Preaching Academy is, plainly stated.

Not seminary-adjacent.

No institutional affiliation. No credential at the end. No workshop to drive to. The Academy is practitioner-first — built by someone standing in the same kind of pulpit you stand in, every week, and still doing it. The framework came out of doctoral research, but it lives in the pulpit, not a lecture hall.

Not a sprint with a finish line.

A six-month cohort ends. A semester ends. A certificate program ends. The Academy doesn't — because your preaching doesn't. You'll be back in the pulpit next Sunday, and the community, the framework, and the feedback are there when you are.

Not a course library you forget to log into.

The Academy is built around live connection — cohorts, monthly calls, real feedback on real sermons. Content supports the community; the community is the point. Preachers grow in relationship, not in isolation.

Not expensive.

The programs that do what the Academy does — personalized feedback, peer community, framework-based training — run $600 to $800 a year. The founding rate is $19 a month. That's not a discount; it's a different model — built for the working pastor, not the budget of an institution.

The Academy is for the preacher who's already in the pulpit, already doing the work, and ready to stop doing it alone. No credential required. No cohort deadline. No institutional gate to walk through. Just a community, a framework, and feedback — every week, for as long as you preach.

Not a seminary. Not a sprint. Just preachers, no longer preaching alone.

The Clear Preaching Academy — What You'll Find Inside
The Clear Preaching Academy

Built around one clear framework.
Proven in the pulpit.

Dr. McClintock's doctoral research focused on one question: what actually makes a sermon clear? What he found became the foundation of everything inside the Academy.

The Clear Preaching Framework
Four domains where clarity is won or lost.

Every sermon moves through four areas where the preacher either increases clarity — or decreases it. Understanding each domain changes how you prepare, how you structure, and how you deliver.

Domain 01
Clarity of Thought
Domain 02
Clarity of Structure
Domain 03
Clarity of Language
Domain 04
Clarity of Delivery

What the framework makes possible.

Prepare with a plan.
Instead of searching for a direction, know where you are headed before you even have a sermon idea. Then once you have a text, you already have a plan.
Prepare with strength and certainty.
Your structure can be strong throughout — without weak areas — because everything is focused and connected. Open, Build, and Close without guessing whether one part was weak while another was strong.
Preach knowing your listeners can follow you.
Too often what the listener hears and what the preacher thought they said are two completely different things. It doesn't have to be that way. It just takes planning and the right learnable skills.

The Academy is more than training.

Inside you will find a community of like-minded preachers who share the same goals — to never stop growing in their preaching ministry, and to make sure their last message is their best one.

No hype. Just a real community for preachers who are serious about their craft.

Common questions.

How is this different from a seminary preaching program or a cohort with a fixed end date? +

Seminary programs teach theology. They don't coach working pastors through the specific, weekly challenge of preparing and delivering a clear sermon in limited time. The Academy lives in the gap between "I have a theology degree" and "I can preach clearly every Sunday." A cohort with a fixed end date is a sprint — valuable, but time-limited. When it ends, you're on your own again. The Academy is built around the reality that preaching never ends. You'll preach next Sunday, and the Sunday after that, for the rest of your ministry. The community, the framework, and the feedback are here for all of it — not just for six months.

What's available when I join? +

From day one, founding members have full access to all courses, including The Big Idea of Preaching, The Open, Why We Preach, and The Craft of Oral Clarity — plus the Academy community and monthly Q&A. New courses and resources are added on an ongoing basis.

What does it cost? +

The first 50 spots are offered at a rate of $19/month to reward early adopters. The standard rate after the Founding spots are filled is $39/month.

Can I cancel anytime? +

Absolutely. No contracts, no commitments. Cancel anytime. If you cancel your founding membership and want to rejoin later, you'll return at the current rate — so it's worth staying.

What is the Clarity Audit? +

You submit your sermon manuscript or outline. Jonathan reviews it and sends it back with detailed written feedback on your Big Idea, structure, and clarity. It's a one-on-one look at what's working and what isn't. Academy members get 50% off the standard rate.

Is the Academy right for newer preachers? +

Yes. The framework is the same one Jonathan teaches in seminary-level preaching courses — but it's been translated for preachers at every stage. Whether you've been preaching two years or twenty, clarity is always the right goal.

The founding rate won't last.
The training will.

If you've been waiting for a sign to invest in your preaching — this is it.
