Clear Preaching Academy

Here's what you will find
inside the Academy.

Courses, community, coaching tools, and a growing library of resources — all built around the four-domain Clear Preaching Framework. One membership. Everything inside.

The Flagship Course

The MasterClass — a semester in one place.

The Clear Preaching MasterClass (Release Date: TBD) is the comprehensive course at the center of the Academy. It covers everything a semester-long preaching course at a Bible college or university covers — and goes further. I know, because I teach those courses.

The difference is that the Academy does not end at the semester. It stays with you — every week, for as long as you preach.

The Focused Courses

27 courses planned for development and release. One skill at a time.

Each course goes deep on one domain or skill — practical tools you can use the same week. New courses are added regularly as the Academy grows.

The Academy is not a course you take once and move on from. It is a training environment built for the working preacher — with courses, community, Q&A calls, cohort groups, and tools that grow with you every week.
Foundations
3 courses
The Call to Preach
What preaching actually is, why it matters eternally, and the weight of the task you have accepted. A theological and personal foundation for everything that follows.
Coming
The Preacher's Life
The character, credibility, and inner life behind the sermon. You cannot separate the messenger from the message — this course takes that seriously.
Coming
What Makes a Sermon Clear
An introduction to the four-domain Clear Preaching framework and why clarity is the most critical and most neglected dimension of effective preaching.
Coming
Clarity
4 courses
The Big Idea of Preaching
Every sermon must say one thing clearly. This course teaches you how to find that idea in the text and how it guards and guides the content of the sermon.
Launching First
The Take-Home Truth
The craft of stating your sermon's central idea with precision — what it looks like, how to write it, and how to test whether it is actually clear before you step into the pulpit.
Coming
Sermon Structure
How structure serves the idea rather than just containing it. The three-movement framework — Open, Build, Close — and how to organize a sermon that actually moves people.
Coming
Preaching Without Notes
How to internalize the sermon so your delivery serves the message. The options, the tradeoffs, and how to find the approach that sets you free on the platform.
Coming
Biblical Fidelity
4 courses
How to Study a Text
Practical exegesis for the working preacher — observation, interpretation, and context. How to move from a passage to a clear understanding of what it actually says.
Coming
Textual vs. Topical Preaching
The differences, the challenges of each, and how to preach both kinds of sermons with genuine textual integrity. Includes the integrity check every topical preacher needs.
Coming
Biblical Theology and the Sermon
How to preach a passage within the whole story of Scripture without forcing it — and why a preacher who ignores biblical theology will always misrepresent individual texts.
Coming
Preaching the Hard Texts
Difficult passages, uncomfortable topics, and texts that resist easy application. How to handle them honestly without softening them or weaponizing them.
Coming
Engagement
5 courses
The Open
How to earn attention in the first 90 seconds. Hooks, bridges, and the art of beginning well — the goal is to get your audience to listen before you say anything important.
Coming
The Build
How to construct the sermon's argument so people follow, believe, and don't get lost. Momentum, logic, and the discipline of keeping the congregation with you all the way through.
Coming
The Close
How to end with weight. Appealing to head, heart, and will — the goal is to move people to act, not just nod. Most sermons end too weak. This course seeks to fix that.
Coming
Transitions
The underrated skill. How to move between sections without losing people — audible transitions that guide the congregation through the sermon's movement.
Coming
Sermon Length
How long should a sermon be? Pacing, energy, and knowing when you are done. The discipline of not saying everything you know.
Coming
Illustrations & Language
3 courses
The Art of Illustration
What illustrations actually do, where to find them, and how to use them without letting them upstage the text. The difference between an illustration that serves and one that distracts.
Coming
Preaching with Images
Metaphor, analogy, and narrative — how to make invisible truth visible in the listener's mind. The language tools that turn abstract ideas into something people can actually see.
Coming
Finding Your Voice
Developing a preaching style that is authentically yours — not an imitation of someone you admire. What it means to sound like yourself from the platform.
Coming
Relevance & Application
3 courses
Application That Actually Works
The difference between application and moralism. How to apply the text to real life without flattening it — specific, honest, and genuinely connected to what the text says.
Coming
Knowing Your Audience
Preaching to the room you are actually in. How context, culture, and congregational awareness shape every sermon without compromising the text.
Coming
Preaching to Felt Needs Without Selling Out
How to address what people actually care about without letting felt needs drive the text. The balance every preacher has to find.
Coming
Special Topics
5 courses
Series Planning
How to build a preaching calendar — textual series, topical series, and the rhythm of a preaching year that serves your congregation over the long arc of ministry.
Coming
Preaching in Hard Seasons
Tragedy, grief, crisis, and conflict — what the congregation needs from the pulpit when life is hard. How to preach when the text and the moment both demand something from you.
Coming
Preaching the Gospel Every Week
How to keep the gospel central without it becoming a formula or an afterthought. The discipline of preaching Christ from every text without forcing it.
Coming
Preaching for Decision
Evangelistic preaching — how to call for a response without manipulation. The difference between genuine gospel invitation and emotional pressure.
Coming
Preaching to Preachers
For professors, mentors, and coaches — how to help others develop their preaching. The unique discipline of teaching the craft rather than just practicing it.
